The course is organized into three main parts, in which we will address each of these issues in turn.

Comparative Politics: Global Perspectives on Democracy, Mobilization and Modernization After completion of the course the students are expected to: have improved their understanding of research in the field of comparative politics. In this course we study factors that affect the possibilities, as well as the outcome, of political mobilisation in an international and comparative perspective; we study contemporary conflicts in different parts of the world, and the political conditions for the governance of communist, post-communist, and democratic, and so-called hybrid states.
